Bridge between culture,
business & tech.

Engineering Leadership·Tech Education·Product Building

A Dutch mind,
rooted in Japan.

I'm a software developer from the Netherlands who moved to Japan and never looked back. Over the years I've grown from writing code to leading engineering teams, always with the same drive: understand deeply, improve continuously.

As Engineering Manager at HomeQgo I led multiple fully remote teams building sustainable energy solutions for the Dutch housing market. Thousands of kilometers away, yet those teams shipped, learned, and grew together every sprint. That is where I learned what actually makes distributed engineering work.

Today I work independently. I help companies get their IT projects to succeed, and I build my own products to keep my hands on the tools. I see myself as the bridge between culture, business, and technology, not because it sounds good, but because it's where I make the biggest impact. Translating between worlds. Helping people understand each other better.

Three pillars.
One mission.

01

Engineering Leadership

Most IT projects do not fail on technology. They fail on unclear goals, slow feedback, and teams pulling in different directions. I lead distributed teams the way that fixes this: remote-first, outcome-driven, people-centered. Years of doing it at HomeQgo, now for clients.

Tech Education

Hosting Study Sessions for OKTech, Kansai's largest English-speaking tech community. Learning together about tech in an interactive way with small groups, relevant topics, and hands-on learning.

Continuous Improvement

While continuously trying to improve myself, I discovered that helping others is more effective and more fun. Every workshop, every code review, every mentoring session raises the quality bar for the entire team, including me.

TableTap solves a specific problem: tourist groups can't read the menu, can't coordinate an order across languages, and end up doing manual bill splitting at the end of the meal. TableTap collapses all three into one ephemeral session, no accounts, no install, started by scanning a QR code or photographing a printed menu.

NTQ is an offshore IT service provider. The engineering capability in Vietnam and across Asia is strong. What is missing is the layer European buyers need before they sign. As their Dutch market entry partner I build that layer: trust, conversion, and delivery. That is what turns Asian tech capability into signed, retained European contracts.

Sharing knowledge
in Japan.

As a Study Session host at OKTech, I bring software engineering fundamentals to Kansai's largest English-speaking tech community. The workshops cover architectural patterns, engineering practices, and hands-on exercises, the kind of depth that turns "I've heard of it" into "I can actually use it.".

Let's build something
worth building.

I'm available for freelance and consulting work. If your IT project needs to succeed and you want someone who has led distributed teams through exactly that, let's talk. A good permanent opportunity is always worth a conversation too.

And if it's just about technology, engineering leadership, tech education, or a conversation across cultures, I'm equally happy to hear from you.
